Saturday Mentoring and Tutoring
The
primary focus of our Mentoring and Tutoring Program is to provide academic
support to 6-12 grade Scholars. However, the program is set up to encourage
relationships beyond academic assistance. Mentoring is a great way to
keep in touch with fellow Scholars and reconnect with faculty and staff.
Steppingstone’s Mentors and Tutors are a group of adults who value education and wish to help others to excel in theirs. The relationships between Mentors and Scholars help develop the Scholar’s confidence academically and personally. The volunteers enjoy a sense of giving back to the community as they see the Scholars progress. Join us as a Steppingstone Mentor/Tutor.
Mentoring is held from 10:00am to 12:00pm on Saturdays throughout the academic year. During these two hours, volunteers work one-on-one with the Scholars to complete homework or special projects. They also have the opportunity to work on study skills, organization, and time management.
