Scholarly Achievements

Tanisha Hospedale, 12th grade (AIS), participated in the LEAD program at Stanford University this summer.
Nadira Holliman, 11th grade (Girls High), participated in Upenn’s Summer Mentorship Program in The School of Medicine.
Jasmine Pope (freshman @ Haverford College) won EA’s Religion Essay Award at her graduation service. Also, she has been chosen to attend the Tri-Co Multicultural Conference, a diversity conference for Bryn Mawr, Haverford and Swarthmore students at the end of this month.
Cokie Nanka, 11th grade (EA), is studying in Italy with the “School Year Abroad” program this year, returning in May. She will be following a classical course of study: Latin, Greek, Italian, Art History, Math and English.
Kian Spady, 12th grade (Haverford), was a representative for Haverford at the Princeton University Symposium for Race Relations, and received a certificate for his work involving race relations.
Kiana Spady and Saida Harpi, 11th grade (AIS) performed in their school’s Fall musical production.
Saida Harpi ‘04 starred as Yertle the Turtle in Agnes Irwin's Middle School musical, Seussical.
Rashana Trim ’02 was the Stage Manger for the fall play SCROOGE and played Squash during the spring 2007 season at The Baldwin School.
Tyler Hightower ‘05 had the lead in the Chestnut Hill Academy/Springside School drama production of Narnia this winter. He played the lion Aslan.
Omar Ayala-Elfaroug ’05 made honor roll during the 2006-2007 school year at Chestnut Hill Academy.
Orion McClure ’06 became a member of Conwell's orchestra during the 2006-2007 school year at Conwell Middle School and was offered a spot on Settlement Music School's junior orchestra!
Fatima Wilson ’04 was chosen as the Middle School Speaker for the 8th grade graduation at Germantown Academy.
Richard White ’01 was the Class Speaker at William Penn Charter School’s Commencement. This honor was voted on by his peers and the faculty.
Amber Davis ‘05, Cammerin Davis ‘04, Asia Hightower ‘04, Cokie Nanka ‘04, Samara Pryor ’05, Rebecca Reyes ‘04, Marissa Rivera ’05, Tia Smith ’04 danced at an Episcopal girls middle school basketball game during the winter 2007 season.
Justis Wright ’05 played guard on the AIS MS basketball team winter 2007.
William Bellamy ’02 played several roles in the 2006-2007 school year’s production of Les Miserables at Germantown Academy, which included a solo.
Anthony Thai ’06 received honorable mention
for the I Form Prize; he also received honorable mention for the Robert
L. German Public Speaking Prize at Episcopal Academy.
Angira Pickens ’04 won the Frank M. Mcalpin Award, which is voted by the II Form students to the boy and girl displaying to the greatest degree the qualities of courage, honor, service, leadership and scholarship. She also won the Jefferson Shiel Prize, which is awarded for all-around development. at Episcopal Academy.
Jovanna Pope ‘03 received the Caroline E. Seamans St. Peter’s Award and had a solo when she sang “For Good” by Stephen Schwartz at St. Peter’s 8th grade graduation.
Amanda Jones ’00 made Dean’s list at Philadelphia University during the 2006-2007 school year, her first year in college.
Alibra Johnson is currently a senior captain on the field hockey team at William Penn Charter.
Tim Spady ’01 had his first gospel CD released before he journeyed off to Franklin and Marshall to begin his college career.
