Staff
The Steppingstone staff is a dedicated group of professionals who are committed to carrying out the organization's mission.
Nina Weisbord, President, spent a total of eight years as a school administrator in California and Pennsylvania prior to accepting the position as President, of Steppingstone Scholars, Inc. in July 2006. From 2000-2006 Nina was the Director of Institutional Advancement at the Baldwin School in Bryn Mawr, PA. She became interested in school management and education as a volunteer Board member at the Presidio Hill School and the Little School in San Francisco, CA. For 15 years, Nina owned and operated a San Francisco manufacturing business with five retail stores. Nina received a B.A. in Sociology from Ithaca College and her M.A. from JFK University.

Edward Mensah, Director of the Scholars Program, taught for five years at the Abington Friends School where he was the head of the soccer program in addition to being a member of the Admissions Committee and Diversity Committee. A native of Ghana, Eddie attended an international boarding school in Canada prior to receiving his B.A. in Economics from Franklin and Marshall College. Allison Parks, Director of Support Services, a native of Detroit and professional artist, taught in the Fine Art Department at Detroit Country Day School for four years. While there, she also coached dance and track and field and she served on the financial aid selection committee of the Admissions Department. Her work with students includes developing diversity in youth leadership through experiential education. Allison received her B.A. degree in Business from Ferris State University.

Caryn Rivers, Director of Admissions. has admitted promising students to the Scholars Program since 2005. She relies heavily on a variety of her own educational "steppingstones" everyday, including Episcopal Academy, Harvard College, Coro Foundation and the New School. Caryn's professional experiences have led her through numerous private, public and non-profit sector adventures, of which prove to be excellent preparation for a commitment to educational access and excellence.

Kendra Kirk, Development Director, came to Steppingstone Scholars from The Haverford School. During her time at Haverford she led, shaped and organized operational development functions throughout the nucleus and public phases of their Capital Campaign as The Director of Development Operations. Kendra received her B.S. in Marketing at Pennsylvania State University and was a member of the Women’s Lacrosse team that won the National Championships in 1989.

Christine M. Beady, Director of Administration, is a graduate of Peirce College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration/ Management. Christine came to Steppingstone with over fifteen years of educational non-profit administrative and office management experience. Prior to working for Steppingstone Scholars, Christine worked for the Philadelphia Academies, Inc. where she is also an alumna.
