Steppingstone’s Academy provides rigorous learning opportunities to high-achieving students facing significant socioeconomic challenges. With a focus on college placement and graduation, our Academy program begins our long-term relationship with Scholars as rising 4th graders.

Placing Scholars in high-performing schools for everyday learning, Steppingstone also nurtures students’ potential through summer and weekend academic programs, internships, tutoring and academic advising. Now supporting nearly 300 students in 5th through 12th grades, our Academy offers sequenced programs and services to create a clear pathway to college placement and graduation.

“When I went to Haverford, I only knew two other Scholars and Mr. Avery. I’ll never forget being able to rely on him, knowing that someone else understood where I came from and could provide guidance as I adjusted to a new environment.”
