Step Into College 2017

Educational philosopher John Dewey, states, “Education is not preparation for life; education is life itself.” With Dewey’s philosophy in mind, the Step Into College Conference was started in 2013 by Steppingstone Scholars, Inc., the University of the Sciences, Councilwoman Blondell Reynolds Brown, the School District of Philadelphia, and the Mayor’s Office of Education. Now in its 4th year, The Step Into College Conference is a two-day college access conference that provides students and their families with essential, college preparation, guidance, and informational resources.  For the past four years, the Step Into College Conference has served and empowered over 1,500 students, counselors, and families.
